A statement by Microsoft revealed that the Free Play Day for select Xbox One titles was actually an error, confirms reports in CNET.
A new feature called ‘Free Play Day with Gold’ is being tested by Microsoft that lets the gamer unlock a certain number of Xbox One titles which could be played for 24 hours. A Xbox One thread by a person read that a game called ‘Max: The Curse of Brotherhood’ was already unlocked as a free download.
A spokesperson from Microsoft spoke about the error related to the mistake telling that, “ A promotional tile for Max: Curse of the Brotherhoo" was posted briefly on the US dash in error yesterday. We apologize for any inconvenience. We’re constantly exploring different ways to offer more benefits to our Xbox Live Gold members and will keep them updated when special offers become available.”
